About Cedar Mountain Fence
A father's craft and a son's promise. Steve and Jon Georgopulos have built a reputation on one simple idea: the name on the truck is the name on the fence, so every fence gets built like it's going in our own backyard.

Our story
A Father's Craft. A Son's Promise.
Steve Georgopulos learned what separates a fence that lasts from one that leans after a few winters, and what separates a company people recommend from one they warn their neighbors about.
Then he built something that mattered more. Steve founded Cedar Mountain as a family company for his son Jon, named for the wood that started it all and built on the standards he'd spent a career proving out.
Today Jon owns and runs Cedar Mountain, and Steve is still on the job every day. Together they lead a team that installs more than 1,000 fences a year across the Chicago suburbs, without losing the thing that made the company worth building: an owner who shows up, walks your yard, and tells you the truth.
"The name on the truck is the name on the fence."
Who you'll meet
Meet the Georgopulos Family
Jon Georgopulos
Owner
Jon owns and runs Cedar Mountain, from the first phone call to the final walk-through. He walks properties himself, because a fence should be quoted by someone standing in your yard.
Steve Georgopulos
Founder
Steve set the standards Cedar Mountain still builds to, including the heavy-grade 5x5 posts under every wood fence, and he's on jobsites every day making sure each install lives up to them.
When you call Cedar Mountain, you're not calling a call center. Steve or Jon will be part of your project.
The Cedar Mountain standard
Overbuilt on Purpose
Most of what makes a fence last is the part you never see. These are the standards Steve set and Jon builds to today.
Heavy-Grade 5x5 Posts
Our wood fences stand on heavy-grade 5x5 posts, over 50% more wood than the standard 4x4 most companies use. It costs us more. It's worth it.
Set Below the Frost Line
Posts are set in concrete below the frost line to resist Chicago frost heave, so your fence holds its line winter after winter.
Hand-Selected Cedar
Our company is named for it, so we don't get casual about it. Cedar is checked for straightness and grain before it goes in your yard.
One-Day Installs, Spotless Cleanup
Most installs are finished in a single day, and our crews leave your yard cleaner than they found it.
